The scope of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy is only beginning to sink in. Hundreds of people are located in areas affected by the hurricane. Dozens are still flooded and without power, with no definite timeline for relief.
In this challenging time, our dear synagogue and Mazel Day School at FREE of Brighton Beach are in dire need of assistance so that we may continue to help and assist others. By helping FREE of Brighton you will be enabling us to serve our community to ensure that Jewish life can continue to grow and flourish in Brighton Beach.
In our downstairs synagogue, aside from the destruction to the actual sanctuary, we sustained great damage to six of our holy
Torah scrolls. We need funds to help restore the scrolls because every Torah deserves to be saved.
In addition, all of our community programs, as well as the K-6 grades of our school, are located and conducted on the ground floors of both of our buildings which are now completely destroyed. We are in desperate need of funds in order to rebuild our center.
All support is greatly appreciated and needed. We thank you for your help.
